Oscar L. "Red" Blackman, 79, died June 21, 2003, at his home in Tonto Basin, where he was a resident for nine years. He was born Jan. 25, 1924 in Greenwood, Ark.
Mr. Blackman served in the U.S. Navy, and was a veteran of World War II.
He was a retired truck driver who drove for Blackburn Truck Lines of California and Arizona. He also drove for Bond Trucking of Arizona.
He is survived by his wife, Dorcas Blackman of Tonto Basin; daughters, Deborah Traw of Phoenix and Donna Brooks of Bullhead City; son-in-law, Thomas Traw of Phoenix; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of California.
