Templeton G. "T.G." Neely, 70, of Payson, died Feb. 22, 2003 in Tucson.
Mr. Neely was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated in 1954 with a BA in mathematics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Later that year, he married his high school sweetheart, Bette, and devoted his life to their happiness.
The family moved to Tucson in 1967 and to Phoenix in 1970, where Mr. Neely joined Hewlett-Packard as a sales representative in 1972.
Mr. Neely held district and region manager positions during a 10-year stay in the Los Angeles area and retired in 1994 after 21 years, then moved to Payson.
Mr. Neely was active in community events and politics. He was president of several homeowners associations, was campaign manager for congressional candidate Oliver Pierce in 1968, and worked for many local candidates in Payson.
He was an avid barbershop singer and sang with the Phoenicians during a national championship in Atlanta.
He was known for his keen sense of humor and generosity with all who knew him. He loved to be around his family and friends and was a natural entertainer.
He is survived by his wife, Bette; children, Greg (Marie) and Laura (Nathan); grandchildren, Rafael, Laura, Javier, Soledad, Joseph and Megan; brother, Christopher Neel;, and half-brothers John and Dan Woodruff.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 9 at East Lawn Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Road in Tucson.
A reception will follow at the Viscount Suites, 4855 E. Broadway in Tucson.
