I am a regular reader of the Payson Roundup. I have read your numerous articles bashing our mayor, Ken Murphy. Whether any of it was justified or not never seemed to matter to the editorial staff.
My question is how do you decide who to vilify, and who to idolize?
It seems a week doesn't go by without an article about Joe Harless and his Songwriters' Cafe. Is he related to someone at the Roundup? Why is there such an agenda to give him, and the establishment he chooses, free publicity every week? Granted, there are not enough venues for worthy musicians in the Payson area, but it seems he is the only one who gets continuous coverage in the Roundup.
Why don't you share the musical spotlight and choose someone else occasionally to publicize?
Fredericka Zehnder, Payson
(Editor's note: The Roundup recently published one story of the renowned blues artist Walkin' Cane Mark's visit to Songwriter's Cafe, another story about Cody Gibson and the Code Blue Band, and another story about Edorphin. We're always looking for a good story. If there is a band, musician or artist you'd like us to feature, let us know.)
