Fred Hoedl, 90, died March 14, 2003. He was born Feb. 2, 1913 in Cleveland, Ohio to immigrant, Austrian parents.
Mr. Hoedl attended Oberlin College, and was in the music business until his retirement in 1992.
He played in big bands in the '30s and '40s, and in later years in bands playing in hotels and clubs in Miami Beach and Palm Beach, Fla.
He was a lifetime member of the Musician Unions of Los Angeles, Cleveland and Miami, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June; son, Siegfried Hoedl of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; daughter, Ricki Aiken of Payson; two grandsons, David Zehnder of Boca Raton, Fla. and Darryl Zehnder of Davie, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Greggory Zehnder of Davie, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Junie.
