Debbie Aschbrenner owner of Tall Pines Market in Christopher Creek hosted her 2nd Annual Wine Tasting event.
Karen Greenspoon was on hand to help Debbie out.
It was a special night of food, wine, and music, held in one of the cabins at the Village of Christopher Creek last week. It was a wonderful event with about 60 business people from Payson, Christopher Creek and as far as Show Low.
Alliance Beverage did the wine tasting and Debbie and Alliance donated the bottles that were raffled off.
A total of $520 was made in the raffle and the money was donated to the Christopher/Kohl's Fire Department. Chief Kent Courtney of Christopher/ Kohl's department was on hand as was Payson's Fire Chief John Ross.
It was a very nice evening with entertainment by "Dakota Kid" who made the evening very special. Food was catered by Debbie of Tall Pines Market. The creek was running full and people were out on the back deck and all around inside having a great time. The atmosphere was fun, warm and exciting.
I asked Debbie what her reason was for having the event and she said she wanted to bring the business people together from the surrounding areas and make it a fund-raiser, which she did.
She said she also wanted to bring some business to the local businesses, at which she also succeeded.
After the wine tasting several of us headed to Creekside for an appetizer and a beverage and then to the Landmark for a night of dancing. Several from other areas booked cabins so they wouldn't have to drive. Hats off to Debbie Aschbrenner for helping the local businesses and for the raffle that will help the Christopher/Kohl's Fire Department. She did a great job.
There will be a Beetle Workshop held at the Christopher/Kohl's Fire Station on Friday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. The workshop leader will be Chris Jones, Professor at UA Extension. The workshop will help you understand the bark beetle problem, and what you as a homeowner can do.
