Ernest P. Ward, 81, died March 28, 2003. He was born in Indiana, and grew up in Terre Haute.

Mr. Ward served in the Marine Corps from January 1941 until December 1945.

He and his family moved to Tucson in 1961, where he worked for Sunland Sales (paint sundries) both there and in Phoenix. Mr. Ward retired in 1983 and moved to Payson, where he worked part-time in the paint department of Hamman Lumber Company, then at Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company until he again retired in October 2001.

He is survived by his wife, Anita; four children, Paula Risher of Tempe, Linda Queiruga of Tucson, Skip of West Virginia, Martin of Payson; brother, Harold of Tucson; six grandchildren and one great grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at the Payson United Methodist Church.

The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to R.T.A. Hospice, or to the PUMC building fund.
