Communities Prepare For A Busy Summer

The "Don't Let Pine and Strawberry Burn" letter signing is Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Center in Pine. The letters are written to our governor, senators and representative. Your signature is needed. Stop by and sign a letter. Or if you prefer to write your own letter, paper will be available. P/S Improvement Association (PSIA) donated the money for postage and printing. Bring the family for live music compliments of Trouble in Paradise. The kids can have an up-close look at the fire trucks, visit with real firemen and try out the new playground equipment. We need to attract the attention of our political leaders. These dead trees in the forest circling our communities need to be taken down. This is a real community effort. Everyone is needed to stop by and sign a letter. Payson people are welcome as well.

The P-S Archeological & Historical Society is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. The society is dedicated to collecting, preserving and displaying materials and information about the historical and archeological heritage of Pine, Strawberry and the surrounding area. The membership drive is under way. Your membership is an important part of the budget. An individual or family membership is only $20 per year. Call or stop by the museum for information or an application.

Beginning May 15 the museum in Pine is open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. every day. The Strawberry Schoolhouse is open on weekends starting May 17. Hours are 10 to 4 on Saturday and noon to 4 on Sundays. Don't forget the Old Time Fiddlers Jam Sessions on the third Wednesday of each month at 1:00 in the Cultural Hall. This is real foot stomping, hand clapping fun.
