Cooking Class At Bashas' Features Top Chef


Customers of Payson's Bashas' supermarket will learn to prepare fresh seafood Saturday, May 10 as local chef Gerado Moceri of Cucina Paradiso shares his favorite recipes and techniques as part of Payson's neighborhood Bashas' Lobster, Crab and Shrimp Fest weekend.

The cooking workshops will be presented from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Bashas' Supermarket at Highway 260 and the Beeline Highway.

Bashas' regularly features weekend neighborhood events featuring seafood, Black Angus meat, salsas, olives and other items that are among the store's fresh specialties.

Store director Bob Mykleby and chef Gerado Moceri felt the seafood specials presented the perfect opportunity to offer the community a cooking class.

"Many of our customers may hesitate to buy fresh seafood because they aren't sure how to prepare it," Mykleby said. "Everyone in Payson knows that Chef Gerado prepares some of the best seafood in the area and we feel very honored that he is willing to share his expertise with Bashas' customers."
