Peggy Joyce Taylor, 67, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 in Payson. She was born Jan. 20, 1936 in Mesa.
Ms. Taylor was very active in the Payson Clinic Auxiliary, starting in 1958. She donated much of her time to the first medical clinic established in Payson. She assisted in the front and back offices, drove the "ambulance," which was the doctors' station wagon, and helped deliver many Payson babies.
In 1960, she moved to Phoenix, and pursued a career as a medical assistant until the middle of 1970.
In 1980, she became a security guard for the Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette newspapers. She remained with the newspapers until the summer of 1989. At that time, she returned to Payson, where she resided until her death.
She is survived by her son, Chuck (Laurie) Flack of Mesa; daughter, Debra (Jerry) Flatt of Payson; grandchildren, Caleb Flack of Mesa, and Ashley, Whitney and Jeremy Flatt of Payson; brother, Jerry (Betty) Taylor of Clay Springs, Ariz.; nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Lucy Taylor.
A celebration of life will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 12 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive.
