Students and friends of drama teacher John Siler will gather Sunday at PHS auditorium -- the site of many of the plays he directed over the years -- for a surprise retirement party.

Past students, parents and friends are invited to "Siler and His Kids," a special surprise retirement gala for John Siler, long-time Payson High School drama teacher.

Siler's career as a teacher spans more than 30 years, the last 19 at PHS where he impacted the lives of hundreds of teenagers through the acclaimed drama program he built at the school.

The event, open to families as well as past students, will be held beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 25, in the PHS auditorium.

Siler's wife, Kathy, who has worked with him as an assistant at PHS, invites attendees to create a page for a memory book. Pages should be 8 1/2 X 11" and can include pictures, text, drawings and cartoons.

To participate in the program by performing, speaking or making or serving dessert, e-mail Kathy Siler at kas55@dana.ucc.nau.edu.
