The town of Payson will hold a special election Sept. 9, 2003.
There will be two propositions on the ballot: the Payson General Plan 2002-2012, adopted by the mayor and council on May 8, 2003, for ratification by voters; and, three questions regarding issuing and selling general obligation bonds for various town improvements.
A publicity pamphlet pertaining to this election will be available by the date that the ballots are mailed. Arguments supporting or opposing the propositions to be printed in the publicity pamphlet must be filed by 5 p.m., June 6, 2003 at the Office of the Town Clerk. Arguments must be accompanied with a $150 deposit to offset the proportional cost of printing.
The special election will be conducted entirely by mail. Every qualified voter in Payson will be sent a ballot by United States Mail. Ballots will be mailed on August 7, 2003. You may return your ballot by U.S. mail, or deliver your voted ballot to Payson Town Hall, Town Clerk's Office located at 303 N. Beeline Highway.
