Q: Several weeks ago, a cut was made across Airport Road by the Crosswinds Restaurant. It has been filled and refilled with dirt, but has not yet been repaired. When is the town going to permanently repair it?
A: LaRon Garrett, engineer for the town's public works department, said the road will be repaired as soon as they can get someone hired to pave it. He said his department does not have the equipment to fix it and so far, no outside company has been willing to commit to the project. The cut was made for utility lines for the new town maintenance yard. Garrett said the work on that project is moving along and the move into the new facility will be made at the end of the year.
