Michael Winters has been selected as Payson's new fire marshal.
The town hasn't had a fire marshal since Jack Babb accepted a position with the Show Low fire department in September.
"He will be starting in the middle of December," Payson Fire Chief Marty deMasi said.
DeMasi said Winters has a lot of knowledge and experience.
"Right now he is serving as the fire marshal for Paradise Valley," deMasi said. "He's very sharp and has been in the business a long time."
