I feel it is time to use my extensive experience in a new way and serve the community of Payson as mayor. My committee and I are working hard to organize a professional campaign and plan to "hit the ground running" for the primary election March 9, 2004.
I have served the Town of Payson for eight years as a member of the Town Council and presently as Vice-Mayor. During my tenure I have gained a great deal of experience and feel I know the issues very well. My main areas of concern are Payson's water resource and management, infrastructure, forest health and wildland interface issues and managed growth that allows our citizens a good quality of life without sacrificing our natural resources or identity.
The Town Hall meeting Saturday, Nov. 15, was a very positive experience and should serve as a framework for future town meetings. We need to continue to support and promote bringing the citizens of Payson together to find solutions to the above issues and others.
