Friends Seek Help For Family Facing Cancer

About a month ago, Justin Taylor, 23, started having seizures and blacking out.

After a battery of tests, it was discovered he had a brain tumor, his mother-in-law, Penny Conway, said.

Katy and Justin Taylor, along with daughter, Makiah, 2, and their new baby, Mayzee (not pictured) are in for a tough holiday season. Justin just had surgery for a brain tumor which has been diagnosed as cancer. The family could use help in meeting its financial obligations.

"We really don't know," Conway said about Justin's prognosis, "One doctor said he thinks they got it all, but another doctor isn't so sure."

"He may have to have another surgery in three months," Justin's mother, Lisa Taylor, said

Conway said in two weeks, after the swelling has gone down, Justin will have more tests to see where things stand.

"They said it was a kind of cancer they normally find in children," Conway said, "So, they don't know for sure what it is. They sent samples back east for tests."

Justin, his wife, Katy, and their two young daughters, Makiah, 2, and Mayzee, 7 months, make their home in Tonto Basin. Justin and Katy attended Payson schools, were active in FFA and sports, and graduated from Payson High School in 1998.

Katy recently worked for the school district as a teacher's aide, but is now at home with her husband and children. Justin works with his father, Mark Taylor, at the family construction business, MJT Construction.

Family and friends of the young couple have set up a special fund at National Bank for donations to help meet financial obligations as Justin recovers from this first surgery and continues to undergo additional tests and treatment.

The account is National Bank Account No. 0413004675.
