Q: Does Gila County have any rules against building a house in a known flood plain?
A: "Absolutely," was the answer from the Gila County Engineering Department. However, the flood plain has four zones: A, which is right in the middle of the flood way; B; C; and D, each indicating areas further away from the "A" zone. In "A" there can be no building at all; the remaining zones each have their own restrictions, with "D" being the least restrictive.
