Tellabration is over for another year. It was a wonderful evening and the audience loved it. These storytellers and musicians put so much into their presentations and they do it just for the love of telling stories.
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, all the shops will be open in Pine and Strawberry. Be sure to stop in for all sorts of great gifts and decorating ideas. Our little communities really get into the Christmas spirit and are delighted to share.
Looking Glass Books is offering a meditation class, teaching breathing techniques so essential to the meditative process. The workshop is at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 28. There is no charge, and walk-ins are welcome, but RSVPs would be appreciated. Call (928) 476-4771 for information.
The winterizing and safety workshop scheduled at Looking Glass books for Saturday, Nov. 29 has been canceled because of a conflict with the instructor. Watch for rescheduling.
The Pine Strawberry Arts and Crafts gift shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., every Saturday and Sunday through November at the Pine Community Center.
The P-S School Christmas Tree Auction and Community Christmas Party is at 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6. at the Cultural Hall in Pine. The school choir will sing and there will be something for everyone including door prizes, refreshments, caroling and decorations made by the students which will sell for $1.
The big event, the tree auction, will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. followed by the tree lighting and visit from Santa. Everyone is invited to come to this community Christmas party. All proceeds go directly to the classrooms. Donations of door prize items can be dropped off at Sunny Mountain Realty marked with appropriate age and sex of child.
The Christmas Angels Benefit Auction is Saturday, Dec. 6 at the old south-side gas station in Pine at Highway 87 and Cemetery Road. The silent auction runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by the live auction. The event is great fun and also provides a Christmas for families in Pine and Strawberry that would not otherwise have one. Donations of home accessories, jewelry, art and exotic junk are welcome and needed as well as cash donations. Call the Angel hotline at (928) 476-3433 for information and drop off times.
