The Muscular Dystrophy Association is locking up nearly 100 Rim country residents at Cucina Paradiso.
The restaurant is the host site for the MDA Lock-Up program.
"Those Payson jailbirds that have been accused of having a ‘big heart' will be raising their bail for Jerry's Kids," said Gail Gilmartin, program coordinator for the Phoenix East District of MDA.
About 98 area residents are scheduled to participate and one of the community's families that has benefited from MDA services will also be in attendance.
"Along with Cucina Paradiso, Chapman Chevrolet of Payson will be helping out by donating the use of several cars to be used as our ‘paddywagons' for individual arrests," Gilmartin said, "And members of the Payson firefighters will be assisting as arresting officers."
The "jailbird" raising the most money will win a one-night getaway at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Phoenix and everyone raising bail of $1,050 will be entered into a prize drawing for two tickets to a 2004 Arizona Diamondbacks home game.
All money raised in Arizona remains in Arizona, Gilmartin said, and several Rim country families have benefited from the program.
