Thank you for your help. Through your column, information was passed along to the citizens of Pine regarding our problems with Brooke Utilities, and as a result of the efforts made by many of these citizens to contact the ACC in response to our situation, we have been granted a public comment meeting to air our grievances and ask questions before the ACC holds a formal hearing which will decide any rate increase requested by Brooke.
A hearty thank you is also in order to all those folks who took the time to get involved and make this happen. Now, let's all get together and tell the ACC which way the mop is going to flop up here. Just remember, they work for us, not us for them, and it is their job to represent our interests fairly, so do not hesitate to make your comments when the time comes, and you can be sure that I will.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at Pine Elementary School. Joan Ruf of the ACC will be there at 5 p.m. to pass out speaker request cards. You must fill out a request or you won't be granted time to speak at the meeting.
If any persons want to speak, but do not feel comfortable doing so, please sign up to speak anyway and then yield your time to me, and I will quite happily speak on your behalf and ask the questions for you. I am not particularly shy and I am livid over this mess we call water service, so any and every chance I can get to drive home a point to the ACC, be it my point or that of another person, I will take whenever the opportunity is presented.
Feel free to contact me and talk about this mess, many have already, and those of us who are totally fed up with Brooke are looking seriously at alternatives to explore and we would appreciate hearing from every resident up here.
