Roger Dean Hendrickson, 88, died Oct. 14, 2003. He was born June 15, 1915 in Montevideo, Minn., the eldest of two sons of Ludwig Ole Hendrickson and Hattie Claire Dean.

Mr. Hendrickson married Betty in 1939 in Montevideo. As department store manager trainees, they lived in many parts of Ohio, Iowa, New Jersey and Minnesota before moving to Phoenix in 1943.

In Phoenix, Mr. Hendrickson was employed by Goodyear, Fannin's Gas and Equipment, and later Republic Supply Co., from which he retired in 1974 after managing the company's Phoenix and Tucson offices.

The Hendricksons began vacationing regularly at Kohl's Ranch in 1950, buying a cabin there in 1955, where the family spent summers. The couple resided at the cabin for most of every year since 1974.

Mr. Hendrickson was well-known for his wood carving hobby.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; son, Dean of Austin, Texas; daughter, Vicki Powell of Midlothian, Va.; grandchildren, Jaimie Beran of Payson, Chad Beran of Scottsdale, Stefanie Powell of Midlothian, Va., and Garrett and Jacob Hendrickson of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jaimie Beran, Jr. and Kayle Beran of Payson.
