Payson Welding Supply opened its doors almost three years ago.
With 35 years experience in the welding industry, when Rich Ladrigan wanted to move to Payson from Phoenix, he knew he had a service to offer.
"There was no welding supply business here at the time, and I could provide a lot of services that are unique to the community," Ladrigan said.
While Ladrigan does almost everything in the business, he has also been able to employ three others: Marianne Hagel is his office manager and takes care of the inside sales; Brad Scott does some welding and also helps with sales; and Travis Buckner is the shop's welder and fabricator.
Payson Welding Supply appeals to both large and small businesses, serving clients as large as Kewit, which is doing the Highway 260 improvements, to hobbyists.
Ladrigan said, "Our custom ordering is efficient and we have quick response for special orders."
One of the unique aspects of Payson Welding Supply is its delivery service. Products are delivered free of charge within a 25 to 30 mile radius of Payson.
It represents all the major manufacturers in the welding industry and has even expanded into the unrelated field of paint ball supplies and equipment.
"The business has been very well received," Ladrigan said.
He said he feels he has competitive prices for the community and is planning to grow in response to customer desires.
The company's light fabricating side is doing quite well and includes modifications to hauling equipment, steps, gates and specialty frames.
"I am so pleased with the community's response. I really appreciate the support I've received. We will continue with our efforts to provide the service the town needs and remain flexible in what we offer. Just ask and we'll try to provide it," Ladrigan said.
