Nearly 60 dogs were registered to compete in the Soroptimist's 12th Annual "I Love My Dog" Show, held Saturday at Green Valley Park.
Five trophies and 40 ribbons were awarded by the show's three judges, Lynn Welnick, Christy Wrather and Wynn Wojcik.
The categories included largest and smallest dog, longest coat, most spots, fastest tail wag and dog/owner look-a-likes, best costume, weirdest bark and best trick. There was also an obstacle course the dogs could run.
"Every dog deserved a ribbon," Wrather said.
The event was sponsored by Furry Friends, Star Valley Veterinary Clinic, the Critter Clipper, Pine Country Animal Clinic, Payson Feed and Pet Foods, and Wal-Mart. The proceeds went to benefit the organizations the Soroptimists help support, including the Time Out Shelter, the Rim Country Literacy Program and Payson Community Kids.
"Our sincere thanks to all who participated in making this event such a success," Event Coordinator Martha Hemphill said.
