Bethel Grace Loofbourrow, 98, formerly of Payson, died March 22, 2004 at her home in Tempe. She was born Aug. 9, 1905 in Mayetta, Kan., the eldest daughter of Samuel R. and Leora Gooderl Jones.
She graduated from Mayetta High School in 1923, then attended one year of college in California and business school in Topeka, Kan. She taught school for one year at Bell School near Mayetta.
She married Theodore H. (Ted) Loofbourrow Nov. 23, 1927.
The couple lived in Wichita, Kan. for many years where Mr. Loofbourrow worked for Boeing. Mrs. Loofbourrow worked as a bookkeeper, and they owned and operated a goat dairy.
After retirement, the couple moved to Payson.
Mrs. Loofbourrow had been living with her sister in the Phoenix area since 1988.
She taught Sunday school, and was active in church work throughout her life.
Survivors include her sister, Mildred Gregg; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983.
Mrs. Loofbourrow was cremated and will be buried at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park in Payson.
