I said that last week's Duck Race down Christopher Creek was won by Chuck Schmitt. I was wrong.

Chuck e-mailed me today with a picture of the first-place winner. It turns out that Chuck bought eggs for each of his six grandchildren and the youngest one--month-old Katie Anthony -- was the winner.

Nine-month-old Katie Anthony, granddaughter of Chuck Schmitt, crawled away with the first-place prize in last week's Christopher Creek Duck Race.

Don't forget the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. this Sunday at the top of Hillcrest Road at the forest gate. The hunt is for toddlers through age 12. Bring your own basket.

There will be a contest for the best Easter bonnet by an adult, so get your imagination ready. There will be some great prizes.

Belated thank-you

Last week, I thanked two members of Christopher/Kohl's Fire Department for fighting the Webber Fire, but I just found out that Don Rhodes also was at the fire doing his best to fight it. Thank you, Don.
