Q: What is the last day to register to vote in the May 18 general election in Payson? How does someone get registered to vote?
A: Dixie Mundy in the Gila County Elections Office said Arizona has a 29-day cutoff law, so the last day to register for any election is 29 days prior to that election. In the case of the May 18 general election, the last day to register is Monday, April 19. To register, residents can get the voter registration forms at a variety of places in the community including town hall, the library, the post office, the Motor Vehicle Division office and the county assessor's office. The form must be postmarked by April 19 to qualify the applicant to vote in the May 18 election.
