Virgil Bell, 92, of Payson, died April 5, 2004 in Payson. He was born Nov. 5, 1911 in Sumner, Ill. He married Geneva Robinson Jan. 25, 1930 and they celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Mr. Bell owned a general merchandise store. He served in the Army during World War II and moved to Phoenix in August 1945, where he owned a refrigeration/appliance repair business. He retired from Painted Desert Mobile Home where he served as a set-up engineer and then moved to Payson in May 1981. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon.
Mr. Bell is survived by his son Donavon (Barbara) Bell; daughter Vondaleen (Ted) Thal; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six step-great grandchildren; brother Ivan Bell; sisters Dorothy Landsdown and Mary Howell; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bell preceded him in death 11 years ago.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004 at Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Main Street, Payson.
Interment was held April 9, 2004 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Mesa, Arizona.
