Mavs Outrun White Mountain Foes

The Rim Country Middle School boys track and field team posted 150.5 points to easily outdistance runner-up Canyon Day (141) and Joseph City (44.50).

The three-way White Mountain League clash was April 15 on the Payson High School track.

The Rim Country Middle School eighth-grade track team has an exceptional B class shot-putter in Nick Goodman.

In WML track and field, the youngsters compete in one of three classes, A, B, or C, based on their height and weight.

In the A classification, which is for the larger athletes, eighth-grader Troy Brown contributed six points to the Maverick cause by winning the high jump.

Among the B participants, Josh Cahalan was first in the long jump and third in the 100-meter dash. Donovan Swanson won the C class long jump and high jump.
