Q: What's up with the Payson School District not drug testing the people who work there and why do they have to pay $29 for their fingerprints?
A: Payson School District Superintendent Herb Weissenfels said only transportation employees are tested for drugs, and that is done on a random basis, per federal requirements. "A few years ago we were told by our attorney we could not force other employees to have drug tests." As for fingerprinting, state law requires the fingerprints and allows the district to charge the employees for the cost.
