Nicholas Charles "Nick" Oliver, 78, died July 29, 2004, at his home in Payson. He was born Jan. 14, 1926 in Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Oliver was a Navy veteran of World War II, stationed at Pearl Harbor Submarine Base. He was a lifetime Elk (BPOE) of 37 years.
After retirement from trucking in 1983, he moved to Payson.
Recently, he had been a greeter at Wal-Mart.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Carol Quigley of Payson, Salvi Oliver of Riverside, Calif., David Wicks of Strawberry, Mike Wicks of Payson, Sherie Wicks of Cornville, Ariz. and Susie Wicks of Payson; sister, Rosalie Carlson of Roselle, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Elks Lodge, 1206 N. Beeline Highway in Payson.
