Charles O. Grover, Jr.


Charles "Charley" Oren Grover, Jr., 72, died Aug. 8, 2004. He was born March 13, 1932 in Topeka, Kan. He was the son of Charles O. Grover, Sr., and Gertrude Mary (Buckman) Grover of Wichita, Kan.

Mr. Grover attended Kansas University. After graduation, he served in the Marines. After completing his tour of duty, he worked for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Mo. before moving to Fort Scott, Kan. He was employed by Citizens National Bank.

Taking early retirement, Mr. Grover and his wife, Suzanne, moved to Crested Butte, Colo., where they owned and operated two gift shops. They were living in Gunnison, Colo. when they retired.

The Grovers moved to Payson last September.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Suzanne Grover; daughter, Milcy Paris of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons, Philip Lee of Concord, Calif. and Douglas Charles of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister.

A graveside service will be held in September in Colorado Springs.
