Roosevelt Lake Is Far From Empty

Roosevelt Lake Marina officials announced today that recent media reports expressing low water levels at the lake are misinforming the public into thinking the lake is barren. Roosevelt Lake reached record highs this year over previous years, despite negative reports of a dwindling water supply. Comprised of 10,631 surface acres, Bartlett Lake, Saguaro Lake, Apache Lake, and Canyon Lake combined, could all fit inside Roosevelt Lake and it would still leave 3,833 surface acres of water for boaters.

"The public is being misled by the low percentages reported for Roosevelt Lake," says Roosevelt Lake Marina Marketing Manager Kylee Knauss. "At 31-percent full, Roosevelt Lake is still 3,833 surface acres larger than Apache (2,564 surface acres), Canyon Lake (930 acres) Saguaro (1,211 surface acres), and Bartlett Lake (2093 surface acres) combined."

Despite reports of a dwindling water supply, Roosevelt Lake reached record highs this year.

Although the levels are considered low because of drought conditions, statistics show there is more water at this lake than any other central Arizona lake. The bountiful waters provide many opportunities for recreational boaters and fishing enthusiasts that other Arizona lakes cannot offer right now. Bass and crappie fishing is the best it's been in years, according to Arizona Game and Fish officials. Additionally, the lower waters have uncovered some beautiful secluded coves for tourists who enjoy discovering scenic natural sites.

The largest lake in central Arizona allows boaters plenty of room to enjoy recreational activities like jet skiing, water skiing, and tubing. Additionally, boaters do not need to hassle with closings because of full capacities, over-crowded waters, and unsafe boating traffic or launch waits of up to 3 to 4 hours. For an added convenience Roosevelt Lake Marina offers a wide range of boat rentals including fishing, pontoon, sport boats and 56-foot houseboats. Guests can rent ski packages, kneeboards, and wake boards. Roosevelt Lake Marina can accommodate boats up to 75-feet in its full-service multi-million dollar marina that offers guests 250-wet slips, both covered and uncovered. Included in the slip fees is electricity, water, dock box, finger piers, and trailer storage.

Available to the public is a covered pay-at-the-pump fuel dock and a fully stocked convenience store offering deli sandwiches, beverages, ice, wood, boat supplies, fishing supplies and additional necessities. Fishing off the docks is allowed for a minimal fee and coming soon to Roosevelt Lake Marina will be a dockside bar/grill, servicing customers on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays.

Roosevelt Lake is located only 90 miles from Central Phoenix. From East Valley cities, take Hwy 60 east to Globe, then Highway 88 North to the Marina. From downtown Phoenix, take the Beeline to Hwy 188 south to the Marina.
