Paul and Beverly Bastow celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this summer with a tour of Australia and New Zealand.
They were married Aug. 20, 1944 in Berkeley, Calif. After a honeymoon in Carmel, Beverly followed Paul to Panama City, Fla., and then on to Oklahoma City, Okla., where Paul received training with the U.S. Army Air Corps before being sent overseas to Japan.
After Paul's discharge in 1946, he attended San Jose State and Oregon State University, earning BA and MS degrees. The couple resided in Los Altos, Calif. for 16 years.
In 1965, a job transfer took them to New Jersey where they lived for 35 years. In September 2000, they realized their dream of moving West again and chose Payson for their retirement.
They have one son and three daughters: Marsha Larson of Mesa; David Bastow of Milford, N.J.; Susette Call of Bountiful, Utah; and Kathleen Bastow-Jordy of Bellingham, Wash.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
