William Steward Sr., 76, of Ravena, N.Y., died Aug. 19, 2004. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1928.
Mr. Steward lived in Schenectady, N.Y. for 21 years and in Ravena for the last 34 years. He worked as a security guard at Atlantic Cement for 10 years, and at Albany Memorial Hospital for 10 years, retiring 10 years ago. He also was park manager at Four Seasons Mobile Park in Ravena for 12 years. He enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Cutright Steward; two stepsons, Kenny and Ricky Krzykowski; grandson, Matthew; his children, Carol Stevens and Billy Steward Jr., both of Schenectady, Charyree Massamillo, Linda Chambers, Darlene Tapia, Carmella Steward Cox, Janice, Debra, Thomas, Harold and Paul Steward, all of Arizona; brother, Harold Steward of Alaska; stepsister, Lois Frankel of Schenectady; 30 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carmella Compoli Steward, and brothers, Ralph and Donald Steward.
Funeral services were conducted Aug. 23 at the Caswell Funeral Home in Ravena, with Pastor Todd Cookingham officiating. Burial was at Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore, N.Y.
