Labor Day weekend is just ahead. In years past, this meant the end of the summer holidays and the beginning of the school year. It does generally mark the transition to fall and cooler weather, but no longer starts the school year, at least locally.
Friday Night at the Movies concludes tonight (Friday) with the showing of two films from the KAET-TV Arizona Collection. This week's films are "Arizona Memories, 70s-90s" and "Barry Goldwater -- Memories and Photographs." These films are shown on the big screen in the cultural hall at the Pine Community Center. The films begin at 7 p.m. and are free.
Listen to the music
Cowboy singer Wally Bornman returns to Pine for a final performance at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, with entertaining stories worked into his Western music. Wally will be joined by Anne James, who will perform some of her own original tunes plus other favorites. Andy Hurlbut, singer and songwriter, will also be on stage. Andy and Anne together are the Barbless Artichoke Sisters, certainly adding additional fun to the evening. This concert will be in the air conditioned cultural hall at the Pine Community Center. This great program is free.
