Party Time Under The Rim

There were 41 residents at the annual Fire Department Christmas Potluck at the fire hall. It was a nice evening of fun, friends, good food, and a lot of laughs. Everyone brought a gift, then numbers were drawn and the one with "No. 1" selected a gift first.

Dave Lloyd drew for the first gift, but if the next person wanted his gift they could take it, or choose one off the table. Mike Milburn had to get up six times to get his gift. Each time Mike opened a gift, the next person would take it. Mike opened so many gifts I don't even remember what he ended up with. I am not so sure even Mike remembers what he ended up with.

Residents of the Christopher Creek area began a grand round of holiday parties at the annual Fire Department Christmas Potluck. The little community has several more celebrations on the calendar in coming days.

The Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church will have their annual Christmas Party and Potluck, at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10. Bring your friends, neighbors and relatives for a night of great fellowship, good food, and a lot of fun. Participants will be singing some of their favorite Christmas carols.

The Christopher Creek Homeowners Association Children's Christmas Party is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at the fire hall. Children participating are asked to bring two canned or non-perishable food items. They will be decorating and filling food boxes.

At around 2 p.m. the jolly old guy will arrive by fire truck to talk to each child and give them a stocking. If you haven't yet brought your children, grandchildren, or even your mother-in-law, to this event, you've missed a great joy. For more information on this party call Dave Ezzell at (928) 478-5066.

Do you like to sing? Well, here is your chance. The Christmas Caroling Hayride will be Saturday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. Meet at the fire hall, bring a flashlight, dress warmly and prepare to make joyful sounds. The hayride will go throughout the community. Afterward, participants will head back to the fire hall for cookies and hot chocolate. Sounds like fun. Come climb on the trailer-sleigh and join in with the Rim Valley Church of God Youth Group. I know there will be some good voices there.

The Christmas Quad Ride is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec.14. Riders will meet at Grey Hackle then drive around and check out the Christmas lights in the area.

Creekside's annual Christmas Potluck Party will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20. Everyone is invited to attend.

A belated birthday to Mick Davis of Hunter Creek. His birthday was Tuesday and Mick got a surprise I know he did not want. The house he is building in Hunter Creek caught on fire. Thanks to the quickness of the Christopher/Kohl's Fire Department, with the help of Diamond Star Fire Department, Mick's house is still standing and with any luck, can be fixed. This is not something you would want on your birthday or any day for that matter.

Wishing you and Lynn the very best Mick, and we look forward to the day when you move into our community.
