Roy S. Barnes, 57, of Payson., died Dec. 8, 2004. He was born Sept. 27, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wis.

He served in Vietnam from 1969-1971 in the U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division. He was a Bronze Star recipient.

He moved to Payson in 1981 from Wisconsin with his family. He opened an electronics TV repair shop. He was well-known for his electronic talents. He was also the radio engineer for KMOG for 15 years. He enjoyed doing business and meeting so many people through the years. He was a life-member of the American Legion.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Alice Barnes of Payson; mother, Esther Barnes of Laona, Wis.; son, Michael (Tammy) Barnes of Chandler, Ariz.; sister, Jane Jorgenson of Green Bay, Wis; and two grandchildren, Michael and Jenna Barnes of Chandler, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Barnes of Laona, Wis.

There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m., Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at Messinger Funeral Home with burial pending at the Veterans Affairs Cemetery.
