Edwin Clayton, 76, of Englewood, Fla., died Dec. 10, 2004. He was born Dec. 24, 1927 in Ashland, Maine and lived many years in Payson, moving to Florida in July of 2004.
A general contractor for 40 years, he was the owner and operator of Ed Clayton Construction in Payson prior to retirement. He was a past president of the Payson Lions Club, a member of the American Legion, and The Loyal Order of the Moose in Payson. He also was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Caribou, Maine. He was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughter, Kathleen Clayton of Flagstaff; son, Edwin M. Clayton of Englewood, Fla.; two granddaughters, Jessica Walker and Jennifer Clayton; and two great grandsons, Dylan and Mason Walker.
