Two Valley residents were injured in a rollover accident on the Beeline Highway south of Oxbow Hill Monday morning.
Department of Public Safety Officer Tiffany Harold said the driver, Anjelica Jauregui, 23, of Queen Creek, was ejected from her Honda Civic when she lost control and rolled over an embankment.
Payson Fire Chief Marty deMasi said the vehicle rolled over Jauregui, injuring her severely.
"She was flown to Scottsdale Osborn (Healthcare)," deMasi said.
Harold said the male passenger, Martin X. Urquizo, 26, of Phoenix, suffered minor injuries. He was treated and released from Payson Regional Medical Center Monday afternoon.
As of late Monday afternoon, officials at Scottsdale Healthcare said Jauregui will recover from her injuries, said Harold.
"The cause of the accident appears to be inattentiveness," Harold said.
Urquizo told DPS officers that Jauregui was reaching for a CD in the back seat when the accident occurred.
