Paul Marion Westlake, 86, of Payson, died Jan. 29, 2004. He was born Jan. 15, 1918 in Lasalle, Ill.
Mr. Westlake was in the Signal Corps during World War II, and retired from Motorola in 1983.
Following retirement, he moved to Payson from Phoenix. During his retirement years, he served as a volunteer coach and math teacher, providing tutelage for many Payson youth.
Mr. Westlake contributed to the development of the Payson Senior Center. He also contributed to the Payson community in many other ways, including architectural plans for the new high school dome, and the yet-to-be built Payson Activity Center for the Recreation Department.
He is survived by his brother, Allen Westlake of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 2, followed by the Rosary.
The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 511 S. St. Phillips St. in Payson, followed by interment at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park.
Donations can be made to the Payson Senior Center, or the Payson Youth Athletic and Academic Fund.
