The death of 3-year-old Gracie Lee Haught has been ruled an accident by the Gila County Attorney's office.
"We investigated the incident thoroughly," Gila County Sheriff's Det. George Ratliff said, "and there is no evidence to support that this was anything other than a tragic accident."
The little girl was struck by a truck driven by her grandfather, Danny Haught.
Relatives said Haught was driving very slowly around the arena drive area and no one saw Gracie run out in front of the truck.
She was pronounced dead a short time later at Payson Regional Medical Center.
Detectives conducted a procedural investigation and forwarded their findings to the county attorney.
"I've talked to the county attorney and they will not be filing any charges in the case," Ratliff said. "They agree this was nothing but a terrible accident."
