A local woman returned to her car after shopping at Safeway last weekend to find a sexually graphic note on her car windshield.
"The note was soliciting sexual acts and stating that he wanted to commit a sexual offense to her and they left their name and their phone number," Payson Police Det. Matt Van Camp said. "She had no idea who he was."
Police began looking for the suspect, a 29-year-old Payson man. "We were able to track the person down," Van Camp said. "A patrol officer found the subject and he denied doing it.
"It was forwarded to investigations because it was considered a sex crime.
"Last week, we found him sleeping in his camper at the Circle K parking lot."
The police report said that the suspect confessed to writing the note. He was not arrested at that time.
"Unfortunately, doing that is only a misdemeanor crime and it's called loitering, solicitation of a sexual offense in public," Van Camp said.
Now having a charge, police decided to arrest the suspect. When they found him again, he was searched, and police dogs found drugs in his truck, as well.
Payson Police Sgt. Rod Mamero said the dogs alerted them to something in the truck.
"We found a usable quantity of methamphetamine, a syringe and two crack pipes," Mamero said.
The suspect was charged with loitering, possession of paraphernalia and possession of dangerous drugs.
