A Colorful History

The Payson post office received more than 700 entries in this year's Hashknife Pony Express coloring contest. Children in grades 1 through 3 were invited to submit pictures depicting the Pony Express riders.

"There were so many wonderful pictures," said Karrie Brunson, postal worker. "Some were funny. Some were cute. Some were amazing. We have a lot of talented artists out there."

A panel made up of Pony Express riders and postal volunteers selected the winners.

All entries are on display through Wednesday at the post office.

Children are encouraged to come see the Hashknife riders at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in front of the post office and pick up their entries.
