Doctor's Patients Must Seek Help From State To Retrieve Records

Since Dr. Mark Mouritsen's office closed suddenly following his arrest and that of his wife for obtaining narcotics illegally, his patients have been unable to get their medical records.

Due to laws regarding medical privacy, the only way to obtain patient records is to call the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners.

The Arizona Board of Medical Examiners is located in Scottsdale. Phone numbers are (480) 551-2700 or (877) 255-2212. The Board also has a website that can be accessed by typing in "Arizona Board of Medical Examiners." There is a consumer center where patients can file a complaint.
