Second Arrest Made In Murder Of Heber Man

Navajo County Sheriff's Office deputies have made another arrest in the murder of an elderly Heber man.

In addition to Sean Holman, 16, arrested earlier this month for allegedly robbing and murdering 80-year-old Rex McCarty, Jacob Reidhead, 23, was charged with tampering with physical evidence.

McCarty was reported missing by family members on Jan. 6. A Wal-Mart maintenance worker reported an abandoned truck to Payson police on Jan. 13. The truck, with blood stains in the bed, turned out to be McCarty's.

That same day, NCSO deputies reported they had picked up Holman on an outstanding warrant and questioned him about McCarty.

According to a press release from Navajo County, Holman confessed to shooting McCarty and led police to his body.

The NCSO said they believe that Reidhead disposed of McCarty's truck and that his involvement appears to be "after the fact".

Holman faces several charges including first-degree murder and armed robbery.

According to the NCSO, he will be tried as an adult and remains in custody at the Navajo County jail.
