Payson police officers arrested a man on two counts of child molestation Tuesday.
The 35-year-old suspect was arrested at an apartment complex on West Frontier Street for an outstanding warrant and brought to the police station for questioning.
"The victim is the suspect's 11-year-old stepdaughter," Payson Police Det. Matt Van Camp said. "The victim told a third party and they reported it to us."
Van Camp said that following the interview, the suspect was booked on child molestation charges.
"We had probable cause to charge him with two counts so far," Van Camp said.
Van Camp said he will be submitting the case the County Attorney and it's possible that more charges are forthcoming.
The investigation is ongoing.
