As Americans the 4th of July marks our "Day Of Independence" celebrating the freedom of our great land.
We enjoy freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but it has not come without a price. Let us remember those who fought and died on our behalf, and thousands who are still defending us today.
Internationally there have been many ministries that have requested that we unite and continue to pray for all those in harm's way, especially during the Iraqi turnover. Not only to lift up in prayer those in uniform, but also the Iraqi people who are striving and battling for their independent freedoms.
As you drive down Highway 87 by town hall, you will notice a beautiful flag that is on display, with the words "We Support Our Troops" and the five service emblems. Let this be a reminder to ask God for strength and His mercy upon our situation in the Middle East, for Divine protection over that area. That the enemy would be defeated and that peace would come to that region of the world.
I would like to thank LaRon Garrett and his staff, and the city of Payson for the wonderful job on displaying the flag and the citizens of Rim country for their support of our troops by flying their flags and putting out yellow ribbons. As the troops come home, the sight of "Old Glory" will warm their hearts and bring them resolve that America honors and loves them and is grateful for their sacrifice.
