To ride in style is a very rare treat, but it is not out of reach for Rim residents thanks to Touch of Class.
Touch of Class provides limousines through Finishing Touch Flowers.
"The idea was to expand our wedding abilities to serve brides more completely," said Debbee McDonald, owner of Finishing Touch Flowers.
She said she and her husband, Mike, who does some of the driving, came up with the idea last summer.
There are two limos available through Touch of Class, a white one, which is more of a party car and a black one, which is in the classic executive style, and includes a sunroof.
Keith Metz is another limo driver, and in a pinch, Debbee can also serve as a driver.
She said they started with the white limo, but just before the 2004 prom for Payson High School students, they brought the black one into service.
The white party car has a bar, with an ice reservoir, but if clients want to drink liquor, they must provide it since Touch of Class does not have a liquor license.
"We can fill the reservoir with ice and provide glasses by request," Debbee said. "We can also provide flowers, chocolate and gourmet food baskets if the client wants them."
So far, the longest trip anyone has made through Touch of Class has been to Las Vegas, she said.
"We make frequent trips to the airport and drop people right at the entrance of their terminals."
"Our prices are so reasonable, people from all walks of life are making use of the service. And people of all ages, we have even taken children to the movies and the park for birthday parties," Debbee said.
The price for the limo is $50 an hour -- that breaks down to $10 for any place in Payson; $15 from Payson to Star Valley, Diamond Point, Round Valley, Mesa del Caballo, Oxbow Estates and East Verde Estates; $25 for trips from Payson to Pine and Strawberry or the Kohl's Ranch-Christopher Creek area; and $75 to Sky Harbor.
The service is only available by appointment on Sundays. The rest of the week, a 24- to 48-hour advance booking is preferred, Debbee said.
A more recent addition to the services provided for Finishing Touch Flowers is bridal gown sales.
"We started that this year and have sizes from 4 to 28 available within 24 hours," Debbee said. "It's an extensive selection and they are all beautifully crafted."
Right now, the shop is offering introductory discounts, some as high as $300 off, for the gowns.
An entire wedding party can be dressed and the whole ceremony arranged through Finishing Touch Flowers. They will rent tuxedos for the groom and his attendants. The bridal gown service includes dresses for bridesmaids and flower girls. First communion dresses can also be purchased through the service, Debbee said.
"Brides don't plan ahead as much as they used to, so there's a real need for immediacy in services," she said.
In addition to the wedding party's clothing, invitations and other paper products for the service and reception can be ordered through Finishing Touch Flowers, but due to the special printing required, it will take a week to get them.
Debbee and her staff can create the perfect setting for the wedding and reception too -- and not just with their selection of the freshest flowers available. They have arches for rent and have even constructed a castle.
