It rained. How wonderful. We could use more, naturally, but this is a great beginning to the monsoon season. Let's hope we get enough to dampen any possibility of fire. Let's also hope there was enough rain to build up our water supply.
The annual meeting of the Pine Medical Clinic board of directors will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, in the front lobby of the clinic. Shareholders and any others interested are invited to attend. New officers will be installed and the monthly general business meeting will follow. We are fortunate to have this clinic in Pine. We should all be supportive.
Remember the July Children's Movie Madness at the Pine library. The movie for the July 20 is "Good Boy." A back-to-school celebration will be July 27, when the children watch "Catch That Kid." Movies begin at 1:30 p.m. If you want more information about these films, stop by the library. Popcorn will be provided. Each child should bring a pillow.
The Pine Strawberry PC User's Group will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, at the senior center in Pine. This meeting will feature an introduction to CDs and DVDs. Several products that create both will be demonstrated and you will see how they are burned. Also, there will be a demonstration of how CDs and DVDs can be used for making PC backups. New interested PC users are always welcome. The first visit is free. After that, everyone is asked to donate $1 to help cover expenses. Questions are always welcome. This is a fun group with a wide range of computer skills.
The Fiddler's Jam session is at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, in the newly air-conditioned cultural hall. Everyone is invited to this fun event and it is free.
This looks to be one of those quiet weekends here in Pine and Strawberry. It is a great time to visit local shops, galleries and restaurants, tour the museum and the Strawberry Schoolhouse and picnic in the new Randall Park.
