The Payson Revolution youth soccer team played its way to second-place finishes at the Phoenix and Tucson Grand Canyon State Games.

At the Tucson games June 4 through June 6, the team participated in the 14-years-old-and-under division. In Phoenix June 18 through June 20, the team entered the 13-and-under division and had its best offensive effort of the season scoring 11 points.

During the regular season, which began in January and wrapped up last week, the Revolution participated in the Verde Valley Soccer Club.

Coached by Kim Wholly, the team returns to action in January.

Because some of the team members will be freshmen at Payson High School next season and play soccer for the Payson Longhorns, Wholly is in need of more players. She is especially interested in acquiring 13-year-olds for next season.
