The Gila County DUI Task Force will be setting up a roadblock in Star Valley to identify and remove drunken drivers from the roadº this Saturday.
The sobriety checkpoint, on Highway 260 at milepost 255.2, will be in operation from 7:30 p.m. to approximately 2 a.m.
Drivers will be stopped and observed for any signs of intoxication.
The Gila County DUI Task Force is made up of officers from the Department of Public Safety, the Gila County Sheriff's Office and the Payson and Globe Police Departments, according to DPS Officer and Task Force Coordinator Vern Havens.
"In addition to the checkpoint, roving patrols will also be working throughout the county over the weekend," Havens said.
The task force is funded by the Arizona Department of Transportation and the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
